Step into the Enchanted Woods with Red Riding Hood This Christmas
The Lime Tree Theatre in Limerick, Ireland, is set to enchant audiences with its festive pantomime, Red Riding Hood, from December 7, 2025, to January 4, 2026. This production promises a captivating blend of laughter, music, and holiday spirit, following three successful years of sell-out performances. Directed by Joan Sheehy and written by Liam McCarthy, the show presents a fresh take on the classic tale, inviting families to join Red on her journey through the woods.
A Magical Adventure Awaits
The story revolves around Red Riding Hood, who must venture into the dark and mysterious woods to find medicine for her ailing grandmother. With the threat of the Big Bad Wolf lurking nearby, the adventure is filled with suspense and excitement. Audiences will be eager to see if Red can navigate the dangers and emerge victorious.
Leading the cast is the talented Hazel Park, who has a rich background in musical theatre. A graduate of the renowned Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, Hazel has won accolades for her vocal performances, including the Lonsdale Scholarship of Vocal Excellence. Prior to her studies in London, she trained in various stage schools in Limerick, establishing herself as a formidable performer in productions such as Peter Pan and Chicago.
A Stellar Cast Enhances the Experience
Joining Hazel are familiar faces from previous pantomimes, including Aidan Crowe, Jessica Bray, Cora Fenton, and James Corr. They will be joined by newcomers Patrick Ryan and Saoirse Daly, alongside a talented ensemble cast comprising Eimar James, Grace Burke, Jack Moloney, Jennifer Connell, Seán McInerney, Siofra Cantillon Mann, and Zoe Allman Walsh. This diverse cast ensures that the production will be a vibrant and engaging affair for all ages.
The Lime Tree Theatre’s pantomime is known for its family-friendly humor. This year, audiences can expect jokes tailored for all generations, from playful references to local sports for grandparents to modern meme jokes for teenagers. Chart-topping pop songs and colorful costumes will appeal to younger viewers, ensuring an all-inclusive experience.
