Status Yellow Rain Warning for Cork and Kerry Begins Tomorrow
URGENT UPDATE: A Status Yellow rain warning has been issued for Cork and Kerry, set to take effect at 2 PM tomorrow, February 11, 2024. The warning will remain in place until 9 AM on February 12, 2024, as Met Éireann alerts residents to the potential for spot flooding and hazardous travel conditions throughout the warning period.
Tomorrow’s weather will initially be a mix of cloud and sunny spells in the morning, but rain is expected to sweep in from the west by early afternoon. As the rain extends eastwards, all areas will likely experience wet weather by early evening. Afternoon temperatures will range from 4 to 8 degrees Celsius, with a brisk breeze from the north to northwest.
Tonight, expect cold and mostly clear skies, but some showers are anticipated, particularly in the northern and western regions. Frost and potentially icy conditions are forecasted, with temperatures plummeting to between -2 to +2 degrees Celsius. Mist and fog patches may also develop, complicating travel further.
Residents are urged to prepare for the incoming weather and take necessary precautions to ensure safety on the roads. As conditions worsen, keep an eye on updates from Met Éireann and local authorities for the latest information.
This warning serves as a critical reminder of the unpredictable Irish weather and its potential impacts on daily life. Stay informed and stay safe as these developments unfold.
