The center’s medically supervised injecting facility stands as a critical component of its services, offering a safe environment for drug users and reducing health risks. “We monitor for overdoses, provide clean equipment, and give advice on safe injecting practices,” Newell explains. As winter intensifies, the demand for warmth and comfort escalates. “It’s one thing to sit in a park during summer; when it’s pouring rain and bitterly cold, all you want is warmth,” Newell stresses.
