Tauck Launches ‘Roam by Tauck’ with Five New Journeys for 2026
Tauck has officially launched its new brand, Roam by Tauck, opening bookings for five unique travel experiences set for 2026. This initiative follows the company’s centennial celebration and aims to cater to travellers in their 40s and 50s, who seek a blend of guided exploration and personal freedom. With strong early interest from travel advisors and potential guests, Tauck plans to expand the brand to 12 itineraries by 2027.
According to Jennifer Tombaugh, CEO of Tauck, the brand fills a significant void in the luxury travel sector. “We designed these journeys for travellers who lead dynamic, fast-paced lives and want a guided experience that feels personal yet effortless,” she stated. The journeys combine premium experiences with the flexibility to explore, leveraging Tauck’s extensive network of partners.
Distinctive Travel Experiences
Every journey under the Roam by Tauck brand includes exclusive access to experiences often unavailable to independent travellers. Each itinerary features Signature Moments, which highlight immersive group experiences, ensuring guests create lasting memories. The journeys are designed for small groups, averaging just 16 guests, and incorporate a “half-on, half-off” philosophy. This approach balances structured group activities with periods of free time, allowing travellers to explore independently.
The inaugural itineraries include:
– **Mexico City & San Miguel de Allende**: A seven-day journey that showcases the rich art, culture, and cuisine of Mexico. Guests will stay at the renowned Casa de Sierra Nevada, a Belmond Hotel, and participate in activities like a private cooking class and a sunrise balloon flight over Teotihuacan. Prices start at $7,490 USD per person (double occupancy, plus airfare).
– **Bordeaux & The Dordogne**: This eight-day itinerary explores the vibrant city of Bordeaux and the scenic Dordogne region. Guests will enjoy local markets, canoeing, and a day for independent exploration with a private driver. Accommodations include the five-star Mondrian Bordeaux Les Carmes, with prices starting at $7,990 USD per person.
– **San Sebastián & Rioja**: Over seven days, guests will navigate Spain’s Basque Country through biking and culinary experiences, including a dinner prepared by a Michelin-starred chef. The journey begins at $6,990 USD per person.
– **Prague & The Danube**: A ten-day trip that combines the cultural charm of Prague with a cruise along the Danube River, featuring guided walks and a private waltz lesson in Vienna. Prices start at $7,690 USD per person.
– **Porto & The Douro Valley**: This eight-day river cruise offers flexible days in Porto, along with wine tastings and cultural experiences in the Douro Valley. The journey begins at $6,390 USD per person.
All journeys include comprehensive services, such as accommodations, airport transfers, luggage handling, and gratuities. Independent time is integrated into each itinerary, allowing guests to pursue their interests.
Future Expansion Plans
Looking ahead, Tauck plans to expand the Roam by Tauck brand in 2027 with seven additional journeys spanning six continents. New itineraries will include destinations such as Iceland, New Zealand, and South Africa. Full details will be available at RoambyTauck.com in spring 2026.
With Roam by Tauck, the company aims to redefine luxury travel for a new generation, offering curated experiences that blend exploration with personal freedom. The first departures are scheduled to commence in August 2026.
