Urgent Appeal Renewed for Missing Man Anthony Hanlon, 40
UPDATE: Gardaí have urgently renewed their appeal for information regarding the whereabouts of Anthony Hanlon, who has been missing from Drogheda, Co. Louth since early December 2024. As the first anniversary of his disappearance approaches, officials stress the importance of any leads from the public.
Anthony Hanlon, who was 39 years old when he vanished, attended an appointment on December 3, 2024, and has not been seen since. Now 40, he is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall with a slim build, balding auburn hair, and blue eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was reportedly wearing a grey beanie hat, black tracksuit bottoms, and a tartan wool lumberjack shirt.
Authorities and Anthony’s family are increasingly concerned for his well-being. His sister, Jessica Hanlon, expressed the profound emotional toll on the family, saying, “We’re in limbo… My mother has lost four stone, the woman can’t talk without crying.”
Jessica shared distressing insights into her brother’s mental state leading up to his disappearance, revealing he had expressed concerns about a specific individual. “If I go missing, look at this person,” he had told family and friends. This critical information has been relayed to Gardaí in hopes of uncovering new leads.
As the anniversary of Anthony’s disappearance nears, Gardaí are calling on anyone who may have seen him or spoken to him in early December 2024 to come forward. The public is urged to share any information, no matter how trivial it may seem. Tips can be directed to Drogheda Garda Station at 041 9874200, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any local Garda station.
With the clock ticking down to the one-year mark, both authorities and family members are desperate for answers. Jessica pleads, “We just want him back, no matter if he’s dead or alive.” The emotional plea underscores the urgency of this case and the ongoing impact on those left behind.
As developments unfold, the community is encouraged to remain vigilant and supportive. The search for Anthony Hanlon continues, with hopes that renewed attention may finally lead to the answers his family desperately seeks.
