Aer Lingus Launches Direct Flights from Dublin to Tromsø

Aer Lingus has officially launched its inaugural direct service from Dublin to Tromsø, providing travelers with a new opportunity to explore the breathtaking Northern Lights. This marks the airline’s first-ever direct route to Norway, enhancing accessibility to the stunning landscapes of the Arctic region.

Beginning today, flights to Tromsø will operate twice weekly, specifically on Wednesdays and Sundays, continuing until March 2026. One-way fares start at €101, inclusive of taxes, charges, and carrier-imposed fees. This new route aims to attract both adventure seekers and those looking for a picturesque winter getaway.

Connectivity and Opportunities

Susanne Carberry, Chief Customer Officer of Aer Lingus, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “Today marks a milestone for Aer Lingus as our inaugural direct service from Dublin to Tromsø takes flight. This exciting new route gives customers in Ireland the opportunity to experience the natural beauty and unique adventures of Northern Norway this winter.”

The service also strengthens the region’s connectivity to the United States, making Tromsø more accessible through Aer Lingus’ Dublin hub. Passengers can benefit from seamless travel options, encouraging tourism both to Norway and from the Arctic to Dublin.

Ivar Schrøen Helsing, Airport Manager at Avinor Tromsø Airport, welcomed the new service, saying, “Finally, we can welcome Irish people on direct flights to fantastic Tromsø, to the northern lights, and outstanding nature and experiences.” He added that the route will also facilitate travel for local residents to explore the cultural offerings of Dublin and Ireland.

Tromsø, often referred to as the “Gateway to the Arctic,” offers visitors a range of activities beyond the stunning Aurora Borealis. Adventure enthusiasts can partake in 24-hour skiing, dog sledding, and whale watching, making it a versatile destination for various interests.

As the winter season approaches, Aer Lingus aims to capitalize on rising interest in Arctic travel, positioning Tromsø as a prime choice for holidaymakers seeking both adventure and natural beauty. With its unique offerings and direct accessibility from Dublin, the new service is set to provide an unforgettable travel experience.
