Eddie Hearn Discusses Conor Benn’s Focus Away from Lewis Crocker Fight

The anticipated boxing match between Conor Benn and Lewis Crocker remains a possibility, according to promoter Eddie Hearn. However, Hearn emphasized that Benn’s current pursuit of the WBC welterweight title has diverted his attention away from this potential clash.

Lewis Crocker, the reigning IBF welterweight champion, has openly expressed his desire to face Benn, but the English fighter has distanced himself from the matchup. Benn has indicated his reluctance towards the IBF’s rehydration clause and is currently focused on capturing the WBC title, a belt his father, Nigel Benn, famously held.

During an interview with The Ring, Hearn commented on Benn’s fixation with the WBC title, stating, “Conor Benn is just fixated by the WBC world title.” He noted that Benn’s focus is not solely on Crocker, but also on other champions in the division, such as Rolando Romero and Devin Haney. Hearn reiterated that Benn’s primary aim is to secure the prestigious green-and-gold belt.
