Local Councillor Donal “Mandy” Kelly announced the news, expressing his enthusiasm: “Fantastic news for Glenswilly National School that planning has today been officially granted for the development of a new sports pitch, floodlights, and ball stops.” This new addition will complement existing facilities, including an astro-turf pitch and a running track, creating a comprehensive environment for football and athletics.

The journey to this moment began with conditional approval granted in late October 2025, but today marks a pivotal step forward.
