The event, held at 777 on Georges Street, welcomed travel industry professionals and media for a festive evening featuring a margarita reception that set the tone for the festivities.

The new service to Cancún is set to commence on January 6, 2026, operating three times weekly on the airline’s A330-300 aircraft. This route offers Irish holidaymakers a convenient escape to the warmth and cultural richness of the Mexican Caribbean, providing an effortless option to avoid lengthy layovers during the cold winter months.

Highlights of the New Route

She highlighted the region’s balmy weather, stunning beaches, and crystal-clear waters, making it a perfect addition to Aer Lingus’s long-haul portfolio.

The new flights will operate from January 6 to April 29, 2026, allowing travelers to experience not only the beautiful coastline but also the remarkable archaeological sites in the region. Notable locations include Chichén Itzá, Tulum, and El Rey, which provide fascinating insights into Mexico’s rich history and heritage.

Culinary Delights and Family-Friendly Options

Beyond its scenic landscapes, Cancún is also a gastronomic haven. Visitors can explore a variety of authentic Mexican dishes, from grilled meats to the region’s famous ceviche. Local delicacies such as Lobster Pizza, Queso De Bola, and freshly made Guacamole offer a culinary adventure that showcases the vibrant flavors of Mexican cuisine.

Cancún is particularly attractive to honeymooners, but it also boasts numerous family-friendly accommodations that cater to various budgets. With its combination of sun-soaked beaches and rich cultural experiences, Cancún presents an appealing option for families looking for a winter getaway.

Flights to Cancún are priced from €291 each way, inclusive of taxes, fees, and carrier charges. For more information and to book flights, travelers can visit the Aer Lingus website at aerlingus.com.
