The 2025 Inter-firm Football Tournament concluded with a riveting final at the University of Limerick South Campus over the weekend, where Bay Enterprises claimed victory by defeating ProEnergy 1-0. The decisive goal was scored late in the match by the talented Shane Clarke, securing the championship for Bay Enterprises, a leader in maintenance solutions based in Crossagalla Industrial Estate, Ballysimon.

In the Shield final, Atlantic Aviation showcased their prowess with a convincing 2-0 win against Netcore Solutions. The standout player, Sammy Tabot-Ndip, scored both goals, demonstrating his exceptional skill throughout the match.

The Plate final proved to be a nail-biting affair as Limerick Accountants and Eir battled to a thrilling 2-2 draw after extra time. Ultimately, Limerick Accountants triumphed in the penalty shootout, emerging as victors in a gripping conclusion to the tournament.

Over the course of two months, the tournament featured approximately 20 teams competing in 50 matches, with around 500 players participating. The event not only celebrated sportsmanship but also supported a noble cause; profits from the tournament were donated to the Limerick Mental Health Association (LMHA).

Ian Hackett, a representative of LMHA, was present to award the trophies and expressed gratitude to all participants. “Our thanks to all involved for making the tournament a success, and we are once again heartened to be the benefactors from the season,” Hackett stated. He further noted the impressive displays across the finals, indicating a hopeful outlook for the upcoming 2026 edition of the tournament.

LMHA, established in 2002, provides crucial support and resources for individuals affected by mental health challenges in the local community. The organization operates from its base at 3 Sexton Street, offering walk-in services Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00.

This year’s tournament not only highlighted sporting talent but also underscored the importance of community and support for mental health initiatives. As the event continues to grow in popularity, anticipation builds for next year’s competition.
