Kerry Katona Opens Up About Emotional Split from Ryan Mahoney

Kerry Katona has revealed the emotional turmoil surrounding her split from fiancé Ryan Mahoney during a recent episode of the reality series *Celebs Go Dating*. In a candid discussion with relationship expert Anna Williamson and sex therapist Dr. Tara Suwinyattichaiporn, Katona reflected on her past relationships, shedding light on the factors that led to the breakdown of her engagement with Mahoney.
The couple, who became engaged in 2020, ended their relationship in late 2024. Katona cited a “breach of trust” as a significant reason for their separation. During the episode, she shared, “We were arguing quite a lot because he wasn’t there for me emotionally, and that used to get to me.” She emphasized the importance of small gestures over material gifts, stating, “I don’t want diamond rings,” which resonated with Williamson’s insights on relationship dynamics.
As the conversation progressed, Katona revealed a painful moment when Mahoney expressed doubt about his feelings. “He said to me he doesn’t think he loves me anymore, he doesn’t know what he wants,” she recounted, visibly shaken. This revelation prompted a response from Dr. Tara, who noted that Katona seemed to have endured “10 lifetimes of trauma.”
Katona expressed pride in her resilience but also acknowledged the sadness that comes with having to be her own support system. “I’ve never had anyone to look after me. I’ve had to be my own hero, which I’m really proud of. But yeah, I struggle with that,” she admitted, tearing up as she spoke.
New Beginnings for Kerry Katona
Despite the heartbreak, there appears to be a silver lining for Katona as she seems to have found a new connection within the matchmaking agency. Reports indicate that she has developed a relationship with Paolo Margaglione while participating in the ongoing season of the show. A source disclosed to *The Sun* that Margaglione has moved into Katona’s home, noting, “They’re together 24/7, so it just made sense for him to move in. Things are going really well between them!”
During filming, Dr. Tara hinted that viewers will gain deeper insights into Katona’s past experiences. “Lovely Kerry has an amazing story. People will really get to hear what has been happening since she last joined the agency. A lot has happened since she last joined,” she stated. Dr. Tara emphasized that Katona’s journey has been marked by significant challenges, yet she is now in a place to explore new romantic opportunities.
Katona’s openness about her experiences not only provides viewers with an intimate look at her life but also serves as a reminder of her strength in overcoming adversity. As she embarks on this new chapter, audiences can anticipate her continued evolution both in love and personal growth.
