UPDATE: Residents and stakeholders are urged to participate in the crucial public consultation for the Three Trees to Carndonagh Greenway Project, set to take place on August 20 and August 21, 2025. This initiative, led by Donegal County Council, aims to enhance recreational access and connectivity between communities.

The Emerging Preferred Route Corridor for the greenway promises to boost local recreational facilities and strengthen cross-border ties to Derry. The council emphasizes that this project will provide a scenic trail primarily for pedestrians, cyclists, and those with impaired mobility, fostering both social interaction and active lifestyles.

Public consultations will occur on August 20 from 2 PM to 8 PM at Glencrow Hall, Moville, and on August 21 from 2 PM to 8 PM at the Carndonagh PSC in the Council Chamber Room, Malin Road, Carndonagh. Your feedback is vital as the project progresses.

This greenway is part of the broader Inishowen Greenway initiative, linking existing projects like the Muff to Three Trees Greenway, which spans 5 km. With 2.5 km already completed in Muff and an additional 8.5 km in Northern Ireland, this project is crucial for seamless connectivity to Derry City centre.

For those unable to attend in person, a virtual consultation room will be available online starting August 18, 2025. Feedback forms can also be completed on the dedicated project website at https://threetreescarndonaghgreenway.ie. Submissions will be accepted until September 5, 2025.

Take action now! This is your opportunity to shape the future of local transport and recreation. Engage with the project team via email at [email protected] or by post at Greenways Capital Projects, Donegal County Council, County House, Lifford, Co. Donegal, F93 Y622.
