UPDATE: Urgent work is underway to restore water supply to homes in Craughwell following a major disruption caused by a burst water main. Residents in Craughwell, Crinnage, Shanbally, and Ballnagran have faced significant water outages since Thursday, November 2, 2023.
Authorities from Uisce Éireann have mobilized crews to locate and repair the damaged main, which has severely impacted local reservoir levels. Ger Greally, a representative from Uisce Éireann, stated, “We understand the inconvenience that unplanned outages can have. Crews have been mobilized to address this urgent situation, and we wish to thank customers in the area for their patience while the works are underway.”
Repair operations are currently expected to be completed by 3 PM today, but residents may experience delays of up to 3 to 4 hours before their full water supply is restored. In the meantime, an alternative water supply will be available at the Community Centre and Medical Centre in Craughwell until 10 AM on Saturday, providing relief to those affected.
This situation highlights the immediate impact on the local community, as families and individuals rely on consistent water access for daily needs. Residents are encouraged to stay updated as crews work diligently to resolve the issue.
Next Steps: Residents are advised to monitor updates from Uisce Éireann as the situation develops. Further information will be provided as repairs progress, ensuring that the community remains informed during this critical time.
