Dundrum House Golf and Leisure Resort Closes, 48 Jobs at Risk

Dundrum House Golf and Leisure Resort in Co Tipperary has announced it will cease trading effective immediately. This decision affects the resort’s 48 employees, who now face potential job loss as the business grapples with financial difficulties. An assessment conducted by the new board of directors revealed that the company is unable to meet its debt obligations as they become due.
As a result of this closure, several facilities at the resort will shut down, including the restaurant, bar, golf course, driving range, and leisure centre. Despite these changes, the IPAS centre located on the property, which is run by the Spanish company Utmasta Limited, will remain operational.
Brogan Capital Ventures has initiated a 30-day collective redundancy consultation process with the affected staff. In a statement, a company spokesperson expressed regret regarding the impact of this decision on employees, members of the golf and leisure centre, customers, suppliers, and the local community. The spokesperson added, “However, it is unavoidable given the state of the company’s financial affairs.”
Dundrum House Hotel has established itself over the years as a prominent luxury hotel and golf resort. The site is set amidst expansive green lawns and forests, featuring stone walls and luxury chalets. Located in the village of Dundrum, the resort is a short distance from the popular tourist destination of Cashel.
The closure of Dundrum House marks a significant shift for the local economy and the hospitality industry in the region. As the once-thriving resort halts its operations, the future for its employees and the surrounding community remains uncertain.
