Inishowen Development Partnership Relocates to New Office in Buncrana
The Inishowen Development Partnership (IDP) is set to officially open its new temporary office on Main Street in Buncrana on August 26, 2023. This relocation marks a significant change as IDP will be closing its current office on St. Mary’s Road on August 22, 2023. To facilitate this transition, the new office located at 12 Upper Main Street will be closed to the public on August 25, 2023.
The move to the former Post Office building is intended to provide a more accessible and central location for the community. IDP aims to remain at the heart of Buncrana, continuing to deliver essential services and support in various areas including employment, social inclusion, education, sustainability, and community development.
A representative from IDP expressed optimism about the new location. “Our move to the former Post Office keeps us close to the community we serve, and it allows our staff and programme partners to continue delivering supports without interruption,” they stated. The organization successfully welcomed nearly 4,000 individuals through its doors last year and is committed to assisting even more people and groups in the coming year.
Plans for a Modern Facility
This relocation serves as a temporary solution while IDP prepares to design and construct a new purpose-built facility on Ferris Lane. The planned building is envisioned to be a modern, dynamic hub that embodies the scale and ambition of IDP’s work. “The new building will create a modern, eco-friendly, inclusive, and welcoming space,” the representative noted.
As IDP settles into its new office, community members are encouraged to visit and learn about the upcoming programmes and events. The spokesperson remarked, “We are very lucky to have secured such a central location as the former Post Office, and we are looking forward to life on Main Street.”
This strategic move not only enhances IDP’s visibility but also reinforces its commitment to serving the Buncrana community effectively. With an eye towards the future, IDP continues to focus on its mission of supporting individuals and groups throughout the region.
