Smyths Daleside, a leading manufacturer of animal feed in the Northwest of Ireland, is actively seeking a qualified Lorry Driver for its Ballindrait mill. Established in 1865, the company has built a strong reputation over the past 155 years for producing high-quality animal feeds aimed at exceeding customer expectations.

Role and Responsibilities

The Lorry Driver will play a vital role in ensuring timely and safe delivery of both bulk and bagged animal feed to customers. This position demands a commitment to high-quality service, with the successful candidate responsible for delivering orders accurately and in good condition. Daily vehicle checks are essential, along with meticulous documentation and effective communication with the Transport Team to address any issues that arise during the delivery process.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must hold a valid HGV Class C licence and be fully CPC compliant. Experience in customer care is essential, and possessing an HGV Class E licence is considered advantageous. Ideally, applicants should have a background in multi-drop farm deliveries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, efficiency, and motivation, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

A good standard of education is required to manage necessary documentation accurately. Candidates should also exhibit a clean and tidy appearance, coupled with strong communication skills. The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday, with flexibility for Saturday work if required. Starting times will vary depending on delivery routes, often necessitating early morning starts.

It is important to note that candidates requiring sponsorship will not be considered for this position, as Smyths Daleside currently does not hold a Certificate of Sponsorship.
