32 International Roses Compete for Title in Tralee Showcase
The Rose of Tralee festival is set to feature 32 Roses from across the globe on the evenings of March 18 and 19, 2024, at the Kerry Sports Academy. This year’s selection promises a vibrant display of cultural talent and personal stories as contestants vie for the prestigious title.
The event will be broadcast live, bringing viewers an array of sparkling gowns, Irish dance performances, and musical acts. Carl Mullan has been appointed as the voiceover MC for the occasion, while popular presenters Kathryn Thomas and Dáithí O’Sé return to guide the audience through the festivities.
Celebrating Global Heritage
Participants hail from both Ireland and international locations. Among the Roses competing are representatives from Armagh, Cork, New Zealand, and Philadelphia. This year’s lineup also includes contenders from Arizona, Germany, and various regions of Australia, reflecting the diverse Irish diaspora.
The judging panel, tasked with evaluating the contestants’ performances and presentations, includes notable figures such as Nuala Carey, a prominent RTÉ presenter, and Don O’Neil, a well-known fashion designer. They will be joined by former Rose of Tralee contestant Clare Kambamettu and sponsor Aisling Murphy. This esteemed group aims to assess not only beauty but also the personality and talent of each participant.
