Chris Hughes Reflects on Unique Bond with JoJo Siwa

Chris Hughes, a former contestant from *Love Island*, has opened up about his distinctive relationship with American entertainer JoJo Siwa. The couple, who met on *Celebrity Big Brother* in April 2023, have embraced a long-distance relationship, with Hughes residing in Ascot, UK, and Siwa in California. Their connection has been highlighted by Hughes’ candid remarks about what he cherishes most about Siwa.
Emotion as a Bonding Element
In an interview, Hughes revealed that rather than typical compliments on appearance, his favorite aspect of Siwa is her emotional vulnerability. He stated, “My favorite thing about JoJo is when she gets really emotional. And she gets emotional every time she leaves me.” This sentiment reflects the deep affection they share, as their frequent farewells due to work commitments often bring tears.
Hughes described how Siwa’s emotions manifest physically, adding, “When she gets emotional, she gets this foam at the mouth because she’s crying so much. It genuinely melts my heart.” This playful yet sincere observation underscores their strong emotional connection, which has been vividly captured in videos showing their tearful goodbyes.
Despite the challenges of being apart, the couple manages to maintain their relationship through effort and commitment. Hughes emphasized, “I’m happy to jump on planes,” indicating his readiness to travel to be with Siwa whenever possible.
Admiration Beyond Tears
While Siwa’s emotional expressions are significant for Hughes, his admiration extends far beyond that. He appreciates various aspects of her, noting, “I love her skin. Her skin is incredible. I love her eyes and obviously her smile.” These sentiments reveal the multifaceted nature of his affection, demonstrating that his feelings are rooted in a profound appreciation for her character and personality.
Currently, the couple is enjoying time together in Los Angeles, where they have shared moments of intimacy on social media. Photographs of them cuddling and engaging in leisure activities, such as playing video games, highlight their comfort and joy in each other’s company. Framed pictures of the couple can also be seen in Siwa’s home, symbolizing their bond.
Hughes expressed his admiration for Siwa’s nurturing nature, stating, “She does things for me every day. I feel like everything she does can be romantic.” He described how she surprised him by making thoughtful gestures to enhance his living environment, showcasing her caring personality. “She makes sure I’m fed, I’m watered, I’m happy,” he added, illustrating the depth of her care.
As the couple navigates their relationship, Hughes remains focused on enjoying the present rather than discussing future plans. He remarked, “We live in the moment. There’s no pressure on anything.” This approach allows them to cherish their time together without the stress of future commitments.
Hughes’ reflections on his relationship with Siwa reveal a deep emotional bond characterized by mutual care and affection. Their unique dynamic, strengthened by their emotional exchanges, showcases the importance of connection in a long-distance relationship.
