Cynthia Nixon Attends Rosie O’Donnell’s Comedy Show in Dublin

Cynthia Nixon recently attended a comedy performance by her co-star Rosie O’Donnell in Dublin, marking a celebratory reunion for the two actresses. Nixon, renowned for her role as Miranda Hobbes in the iconic series Sex and the City and its spinoff And Just Like That, shared her experience via social media, posting several photos from the event.
In her Instagram post, Nixon expressed her excitement, stating, “Nothing like seeing my friend (and Miranda’s one-night stand, Mary) kill it onstage IN DUBLIN!” O’Donnell, who plays a nun and a romantic interest of Miranda in the spinoff, has garnered attention for her new show, Common Knowledge, which premiered at the 3Olympia Theatre on July 27, 2023.
The latest season of And Just Like That has received mixed reviews, featuring significant character developments, including Carrie Bradshaw navigating widowhood and Nixon’s character embracing her queer identity. Notably, Charlotte York, portrayed by Kirstin Davis, faces a personal challenge as her husband, Harry, is diagnosed with prostate cancer. Fans eagerly await the series finale, which is set to air on August 14, 2023.
Nixon further highlighted her good fortune in encountering O’Donnell again at the airport, as the comedian prepares to showcase her work at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She encouraged her followers to attend, declaring, “You’ll get a much-needed laugh. And a much-needed cry. This is both quintessential Rosie and a Rosie you’ve never seen before.”
O’Donnell’s stand-up performance delves into her life experiences, including her move to Ireland and reflections on her public feud with former US President Donald Trump. During an appearance on The Late Late Show in March, she remarked that Trump “has had it out for me and has for twenty years.”
As the entertainment community continues to celebrate the legacies of both Nixon and O’Donnell, their reunion in Dublin serves as a reminder of the strong friendships formed through shared experiences in the industry.
