Eric Roberts Goes Green for Halloween on Ireland AM Show
Eric Roberts embraced the Halloween spirit during his appearance on Ireland AM on October 28, 2023, dressing up as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. The weekend hosts, including Elaine Crowley and Martin King, joined him in costume, portraying Glinda and The Wizard, respectively. The trio entertained viewers while showcasing their festive outfits.
Roberts shared his transformation into the iconic character on social media, documenting the process of being spray-painted green. Despite his efforts to scrub the paint off at home, he humorously revealed to followers that he was “still green.” Interestingly, he drove home in the costume, jokingly anticipating a potential encounter with the Gardaí.
Behind the Scenes of Halloween Fun
While seated at the breakfast nook on the Ireland AM set, Roberts displayed the lingering green patches on his hands, looking bemused as he engaged with the camera. In a previous video, he captured his son Rian’s reaction to seeing him in full costume, which appeared to be less than enthusiastic.
Roberts also showcased his attempts to wash off the green paint, filming himself scrubbing at the sink in his home. Despite the challenges of the costume, it was evident that he enjoyed the Halloween festivities alongside his co-hosts.
New Book Highlights Inclusion and Friendship
In addition to his Halloween antics, Roberts recently released a children’s book titled Gary the Stinky Goose. The story, inspired by his experiences as a Special Needs Assistant in Donegal, emphasizes themes of friendship, inclusion, and celebrating differences. It draws from the experiences of his nephew Oisin, who has cerebral palsy and autism, as well as from past students he worked with.
Roberts expressed his motivation for writing the book, stating, “During my time as an SNA, the biggest challenge wasn’t in the classroom, it was at lunchtime, making sure my student wasn’t sitting alone.” He highlighted the importance of ensuring that all children feel included, hoping his book will contribute to fostering understanding among peers.
As Roberts continues to flourish in his role on Ireland AM, his passion for storytelling and advocacy shines through both in his television appearances and his literary work. With his engaging personality and meaningful contributions, he is making a notable impact on and off the screen.
