European Film Stars Gather for Subtitle Festival in Kilkenny
The Subtitle European Film Festival begins this Sunday, November 23, 2023, in Kilkenny, Ireland, featuring an impressive roster of European film talent. This year’s festival will showcase a variety of films, including new releases and hidden gems, reflecting the richness of European cinema.
Among the highlighted guests is Danish actor Claes Bang, renowned for his role in the Palme d’Or winner The Square and the Netflix series Dracula. Bang will present his latest film, The Great Arch, marking a significant moment for attendees eager to engage with the actor directly.
Polish actor Marcin Dorociński will also be in attendance. Dorociński recently appeared in the latest installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise alongside Tom Cruise and is set to star in an upcoming film with Ryan Reynolds. His participation adds significant star power to the event.
Joining these prominent figures are Kristoffer Joner, known for his performances in The Revenant and The Wave, and Aňa Geislerová, a celebrated figure in Central European cinema. The festival will also feature Finnish actor Jasper Pääkkönen, recognized for his roles in Vikings and BlacKkKlansman. Additionally, Dutch talent Josha Stradowski, who has garnered attention from the series The Wheel of Time, will be present, alongside Romanian legend Vlad Ivanov and Laura Berlin, known for her role in the hit Netflix show The Empress.
The Subtitle European Film Festival will take place at various venues, including the Watergate Theatre, Set Theatre, Billy Byrne’s, and Cleere’s, running throughout the week. With ticket prices starting at just €10, the festival offers a unique opportunity for film enthusiasts to experience a diverse range of genres, from compelling dramas to clever comedies.
