Floyd Levine, a distinguished actor best known for his roles in The Hangover and other notable television and film productions, has passed away at the age of 93. His daughter-in-law, Tracy Robbins, confirmed his death on August 24, 2023, sharing heartfelt tributes on social media.
Levine’s extensive career included appearances in acclaimed series such as Murder, She Wrote, Babylon 5: Thirdspace, and Baywatch. He also featured in films like Dog Day Afternoon alongside Al Pacino, and had a memorable role in The Hangover, where he played a tailor. His passing marks the end of a significant chapter in Hollywood history.
Tributes and Reflections on His Life
In an emotional Instagram post, Robbins reflected on Levine’s life, stating, “My beloved father-in-law, Floyd Levine, passed away peacefully yesterday, surrounded by his beautiful family.” She reminisced about his love for classic films and music, particularly Frank Sinatra, and described him as “the best father-in-law, grandpa, and all-round jokester.” Robbins shared that Levine began his journey as a cab driver in New York City before pursuing his Hollywood dreams in California.
Robbins also highlighted the deep connection between Levine and her son, Brian Robbins, a film producer known for projects such as A Quiet Place and Mission: Impossible. She noted, “Brian is basically his twin, and we will see Floyd’s grin every time we look at him.”
“I will miss his humour, his stories, and his F-bombs that Stella made a lot of money off of!”
Robbins concluded her tribute with a heartfelt message, expressing her belief that Levine is now at peace, possibly engaging in casting calls “in heaven.” She reassured him, “Don’t worry, I will take care of your baby boy always and forever.”
