Former WWE Wrestler Kevin Nikel Shot Dead at 41

Kevin Nikel, a former WWE wrestler known as Knuckles Madsen, was fatally shot in Benton County, Arkansas, on July 11, 2023. He was only 41 years old at the time of his death. Nikel, who was part of WWE’s NXT roster from 2012 to 2013, had a significant presence in the independent wrestling circuit, where he performed under the name Ivan Warsaw.
Local authorities discovered Nikel late on Friday night with gunshot wounds to his abdomen. He was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after. An investigation has been initiated, but as of now, police have not made any arrests related to the shooting.
In light of this tragic incident, a GoFundMe page has been established to assist with funeral costs and to provide support for Nikel’s eight-year-old son, Zac. The wrestling community has expressed profound sorrow over Nikel’s untimely death, with tributes beginning to flood in.

TNA wrestling champion Moose shared his condolences, stating, “Wow, this hit hard just got the news on Kevin Nikel we were supposed to wrestle next weekend but his life got taken way too early. Great human, great heart, great pro wrestler; you will be missed dearly. Rest Easy.”
The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) Texas also released a statement expressing their condolences: “NWA Texas is saddened to learn of the passing of Kevin Nikel, professionally known as Ivan Warsaw & Knuckles Madsen. His contributions to professional wrestling will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time. Rest in Peace.”
Since his departure from WWE NXT, Nikel continued to make a name for himself in local Texas wrestling promotions, leaving a lasting impact on fans and fellow wrestlers alike. His legacy in the wrestling community is marked by his dedication and passion for the sport, which will be remembered by those who knew him.
