The event kicked off with a lively atmosphere, where participants were greeted by the Mayor of Limerick, John Moran, who joined the festivities alongside his dog, Henri. Ava Crean, a champion marathon runner, played a significant role in leading the Halloween Night Run, organized by the Back 2 Boston Running Club. This initiative encouraged both locals and visitors to engage in physical activity while celebrating Halloween.

Local photographer Kieran Ryan-Benson documented the night, showcasing the diverse range of costumes and the spirited interactions among participants.
The Twilight Thursday event is part of a broader initiative by the Limerick City and County Council to enhance the night-time economy. Night Time Economy Advisor Craig Power emphasized the importance of such events in promoting local businesses and fostering community spirit. The festive atmosphere not only highlighted creative costumes but also showcased the city’s commitment to creating engaging experiences for all ages.
The Halloween Night Run saw participation from various local figures, including bakers and business leaders, further illustrating the community’s involvement. Notably, Kevin Finn from Nenagh AC emerged victorious in the race, adding a competitive edge to the evening’s festivities.
In addition to the run, various activities took place throughout the evening, including entertainment at Opera Square, where community members gathered to enjoy live performances. The success of Twilight Thursday’s Halloween edition serves as a testament to Limerick’s vibrant cultural scene and its ability to bring people together for shared celebrations.
