US country music star Luke Combs will headline Slane Castle in Ireland on July 18, 2024, as confirmed by MCD Promotions on Thursday. He will perform alongside The Script, Ty Myers, and The Castellows, marking the first concert at this historic venue in Meath since Harry Styles took the stage in 2023. The announcement surprised many fans, as there had been speculation about potential headliners like U2, Oasis, and Fontaines DC.

This performance will be Combs’ second visit to Ireland, following sold-out shows at Dublin’s 3Arena and Belfast’s SSE Arena in October 2023. Tickets for the Slane Castle event will be available for purchase starting October 17, 2023, at 10:00 AM local time, with prices beginning at €121.25, including booking fees.

Combs is known for his distinctive blend of traditional country, Southern rock, and bluegrass influences. His music often features heartfelt storytelling that touches on themes of love, heartbreak, and everyday challenges. While he may be a new name for some, the 35-year-old North Carolina native has established himself as a significant figure in contemporary country music, sharing the spotlight with artists like Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, and Zach Bryan. With over 25 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Combs ranks among the top 250 artists on the platform.

Born on March 2, 1990, Luke Albert Combs grew up in North Carolina. His parents, Rhonda and Chester Lee Combs, played a pivotal role in shaping his work ethic. Combs developed an interest in music at a young age but truly began to pursue his dreams while attending Appalachian State University. Influenced by country music icons like Brooks & Dunn and Garth Brooks, he started performing in local bars.

He broke into the mainstream music scene in 2014 with his EP, The Way She Rides, but his breakout came in 2016 with the single Hurricane, which sold 15,000 copies in its first week. Following a record deal with Sony Music Nashville, the re-released version of Hurricane topped the Billboard charts. In 2019, Combs was invited to join the prestigious Grand Ole Opry, solidifying his status in the industry.

In his personal life, Combs is married to Nicole Hocking, whom he met at the 30A Songwriters Festival in Florida in 2016. They announced their engagement while on vacation in Hawaii in 2018, shortly before Combs released the hit song Beautiful Crazy, inspired by Hocking. The couple married in August 2020 in South Florida and welcomed their first son, Tex Lawrence Combs, in June 2022. Their second son, Beau Lee, was born in August 2023, and Combs recently shared that they are expecting their third child this winter.

As Combs prepares for his upcoming tour, he will also embark on his My Kinda Saturday Night tour this spring, which includes stadium shows across North America and Europe. Notable stops on the tour will feature venues like Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, South Bend’s Notre Dame Stadium, and London’s Wembley Stadium. The inclusion of Slane Castle in his tour schedule highlights the venue’s continued significance in the music landscape.

For fans of country music, the opportunity to see Luke Combs live at Slane Castle promises to be a memorable event, showcasing his unique sound and heartfelt performances.
