Mac DeMarco Set to Headline 2026 Wider Than Pictures Concert Series
Mac DeMarco has been announced as the first act for the 2026 Wider Than Pictures concert series. The event will take place at The National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks in Dublin on August 29, 2026. This marks the inaugural announcement for the series, which will celebrate its fifth year next summer.
Since its launch, the Wider Than Pictures concert series has transformed the historic courtyard in central Dublin into a vibrant venue for an eclectic array of global artists. Previous performers have included notable acts such as Father John Misty, Deacon Blue, First Aid Kit, Franz Ferdinand, and Simply Red.
Tickets for the concert are priced at €60 (subject to additional charges) and will be available for purchase starting October 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM through Ticketmaster and Singular Artists. Fans can also register for exclusive pre-sale access.
The announcement follows the successful release of DeMarco’s latest album, Guitar, under Mac’s Record Label. This album, which was entirely written and recorded in his home studio in Los Angeles, has garnered acclaim for its introspective and heartfelt nature. Pitchfork described it as DeMarco’s “most direct and confident expression ever,” showcasing a more reflective side of the artist.
DeMarco expressed his connection to the album, stating, “I think Guitar is as close to a true representation of where I’m at in my life today as I can manage to put to paper. I’m happy to share this music and look forward to playing these songs as many places as I’m able.” The album’s singles, “Home” and “Holy,” have highlighted a new level of intimacy and self-awareness in his songwriting.
After a completely sold-out world tour in 2025, which included two performances at Dublin’s National Stadium this November, DeMarco’s return for a special outdoor show in 2026 is highly anticipated. His appearance in the Wider Than Pictures concert series promises to be a highlight for fans in Ireland.
As excitement builds for the upcoming concert, attendees can expect a unique experience that combines the beauty of Dublin’s historical backdrop with the engaging performance style of one of today’s most beloved artists.
