Miriam O’Callaghan is taking a summer break from her popular RTÉ radio show, Sunday with Miriam, which attracts an impressive 304,000 listeners weekly. The broadcaster announced that O’Callaghan will step away from the airwaves for a few weeks, allowing her some well-deserved time off. During her absence, Anna Geary will cover her slot on Radio 1.

Geary, known for her role as a coach on Ireland’s Fittest Family, revealed on air that she would host her seasonal show, Supercharged, in O’Callaghan’s time slot from 10:00 to 11:00 every Sunday. Traditionally airing in the evening, Geary expressed her excitement about the change, assuring listeners, “Don’t worry Miriam, we will take good care of it for you, I promise. I am a very tidy house guest.”

Geary’s Supercharged Returns

“Hello to all of you, it is Anna Geary with you for the next hour. Supercharged is back, just at a different time,”

Geary stated, highlighting the show’s focus on health and well-being. The program features expert advice, personal stories, and practical life hacks, encouraging open discussions about physical and mental wellness.

While O’Callaghan is on break, her engaging format of lifestyle, music, and human interest stories will be temporarily replaced by Geary’s health-oriented approach. O’Callaghan is expected to return to her show in a few weeks, continuing her tradition of delivering a vibrant mix of interviews and discussions that resonate with her audience.

Upcoming Projects and Personal News

In addition to her radio commitments, O’Callaghan is preparing to release her memoir in November 2023. The book is anticipated to provide insights into her busy life both on and off the screen, offering fans a deeper understanding of her journey.

Geary, meanwhile, recently announced that she is expecting her second child with her husband, Kevin Sexton. The couple, already parents to 18-month-old son Ronan, will welcome the new addition later this year.

In related news, Ray D’Arcy is also taking a break from his program following the passing of his mother, May. Brendan Courtney has stepped in to cover during D’Arcy’s absence.

As listeners await O’Callaghan’s return, Anna Geary’s temporary hosting promises to keep the momentum going on RTÉ’s Radio 1, ensuring that Sundays remain engaging and informative for audiences.
