Ryan Tubridy to Host “The Assembly” on Virgin Media in 2024
Ryan Tubridy is set to make a significant return to Irish television by hosting Virgin Media’s upcoming show, “The Assembly.” This new program will feature Tubridy taking on the role of interviewee, a stark contrast to his previous position as an interviewer. The show, which has already achieved popularity in France, will connect five Irish personalities with questions posed by young people who are neurodivergent.
“The Assembly” aims to launch in early 2024, bringing a fresh format to Irish audiences. The French version successfully included prominent figures, such as French President Emmanuel Macron and notable athletes. Virgin Media’s adaptation looks to capture the same engaging spirit while focusing on inclusivity and representation.
Tubridy’s return marks a potential turning point in his broadcasting career following a controversial exit from the national broadcaster, RTÉ, over two years ago. Recently, Tubridy repaid a controversial €150,000 payment that was central to his departure, demonstrating his commitment to moving forward.
According to sources from RTÉ, there is considerable public support for Tubridy, indicating that a more permanent return to the broadcaster could be on the horizon. A source stated, “Whatever media people may think about Ryan, the fact of the matter is there is an enormous amount of public goodwill and support for him amongst the general public.”
Tubridy’s unique rapport with audiences has been highlighted, as many feel drawn to his approachable style. His upcoming role on “The Assembly” could lay the groundwork for a broader comeback, as he continues to navigate the evolving landscape of Irish media.
As Tubridy prepares to transition back into the spotlight, fans are eager to see how his new role will unfold and what it means for his future in broadcasting.
