Vogue Williams and Stars Gear Up for Celebrity Gladiators Special

TV presenter Vogue Williams and fitness influencer Joe Wicks are set to join the lineup for the highly anticipated Gladiators: Celebrity Special. They will face off against fellow celebrities, including Olympic boxer Nicola Adams and radio host Sam Thompson, in challenges that promise to be both thrilling and demanding.

Excitement for the Arena

Williams, who is married to former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “This is wild. I have loved this show since I was little and I’ll be living out my childhood dream just stepping into the arena.” She added her excitement about competing against the formidable Gladiators, remarking that she is “just delighted to be a contender.”

Wicks, known for his popular YouTube channel PE With Joe, which gained millions of followers during the COVID-19 lockdown, shared his own excitement. “Gladiators is one of the most iconic shows of all time, and I’m absolutely buzzing to be taking part,” he said. “I grew up watching it, so to now step into the arena myself is going to be an incredible experience. I know it’s going to be tough, but I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got.”

Challenging Events Await

The special edition will feature a range of classic challenges including Duel, The Wall, and The Eliminator, where the celebrities will compete for the title of champion. Adams reflected on her participation, commenting, “I’m absolutely buzzing to be part of the Gladiators: Celebrity Special. It’s such an iconic show, and growing up I loved watching the epic battles and strong personalities.”

She acknowledged the unique challenges ahead, stating, “I may be a champion in the boxing ring, but this is different. I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got.” The show will also see the return of beloved Gladiators such as Apollo, Athena, and Nitro in the arena located in Sheffield.

Thompson, who recently completed a remarkable 260-mile run to transport the Soccer Aid match ball from London to Manchester, commented on the challenge that lies ahead. “Just when I’ve finished one challenge, I’m on to the next, and this time I’m up against real-life Gladiators. Bring it on and get me up that travelator!” He expressed his eagerness to participate, emphasizing how exciting it is to step into the arena he grew up watching.

The air date for the Celebrity Gladiators Special has not yet been announced. Last year’s edition was won by TV presenter Joel Dommett and comedian Ellie Taylor, who triumphed over presenters Rob Beckett and Louise Minchin respectively.
