Vogue Williams recently shared her struggles with mental health, emphasizing the negative impact of alcohol on her well-being. During an episode of the podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me, she described feeling unhappy and emotionally drained following her 40th birthday celebrations earlier this month. Although her husband, Spencer Matthews, organized a memorable birthday party for her, Vogue reflected on her internal challenges and the importance of prioritizing her mental health.

In her candid remarks, Vogue explained, “I actually haven’t been happy at all because of my birthday party. I’ve been in the deepest, darkest hole because I’m not able to drink and I won’t have it anymore.” She revealed that the pressure to drink from those around her only exacerbated her feelings. “There’s been a lot of, a lot of tears,” she admitted, explaining her decision to refuse alcohol for the sake of her mental health.

Vogue’s birthday party took place in London and was attended by friends from both local and Irish communities. She later expressed gratitude for the celebrations, stating on Instagram, “You’ll be glad to hear I’m finished celebrating the never-ending 40th. An epic night thrown by @spencermatthews for our London pals and a couple of Irish thrown in.” Despite this, her emotional struggles resurfaced, prompting her to take a stand against drinking.

During the podcast conversation with comedian Joanne McNally, Vogue affirmed her commitment to sobriety, stating, “If anyone says to me, ‘go on, have a drink,’ I’ll say, ‘Do you know what? No, because it’s really bad for my mental health.’” Joanne supported her stance, suggesting that Vogue should consider developing an “allergy” to alcohol, to which Vogue responded, “That’s absolutely it. I’m allergic to it and it’s bad for my mental health.”

Despite these challenges, Vogue enjoyed some quality family time shortly after her birthday. She and Spencer spent a week in Turkey with their three children, Theodore, Gigi, and Otto. Spencer shared their holiday snapshots on social media, celebrating his wife with affectionate words: “HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY to my incredibly beautiful, funny, awesome, cool, talented, babe of a wife.” He expressed gratitude for her presence in his life, noting, “People like you don’t come around often in life… you’re a remarkable mama to our children.”

The couple, who met on the set of The Jump in 2017 and married a year later, have been open about their family life. Spencer recently shared insights into their home dynamics on his YouTube channel, Untapped. He humorously noted that Vogue is not fond of clutter, revealing, “Whenever I have anything lying around the house… I will get an earful from my wife saying, ‘What is this? Move it. Make sure that it’s not around. It’s cluttering the house.’”

Vogue’s transparency regarding her mental health journey resonates with many, particularly as discussions around alcohol consumption and its effects become increasingly relevant. Her story highlights the importance of prioritizing mental well-being and the challenges individuals may face while navigating social expectations.
