Blackrock Health Launches Ireland’s Premier Women’s Health Centre
Blackrock Health has officially opened the Blackrock Health Women’s Health Centre, Ireland’s most comprehensive private, consultant-led facility focused on women’s health. Located at 2-5 Warrington Place, Dublin 2, this state-of-the-art centre represents a significant investment of €16 million and aims to provide integrated healthcare tailored specifically for women.
The Blackrock Health Women’s Health Centre features a team of 28 consultants, including four specialists in women’s medicine, along with 30 ancillary healthcare professionals. This collaborative team is dedicated to offering a wide range of specialist services designed to meet the unique health needs of women.
Innovative Approach to Women’s Health
What distinguishes the Blackrock Health Women’s Health Centre is its integrated care model. Diagnostics and treatments are provided with a comprehensive understanding of how various health issues can be interconnected. This enables the expert team, led by Professor Donal Brennan, Clinical Director and Gynaecological Oncologist, to deliver a breadth of care that is not commonly available under one roof.
Other notable members of the team include Dr. Gerry Agnew, Clinical Lead in Urogynaecology; Dr. Caoimhe Hartley, Clinical Lead in Women’s Medicine; and Professor Kirk Levins, specializing in Pain Medicine. Together, they aim to address the multifaceted nature of women’s health.
“This state-of-the-art facility represents a pivotal milestone in our unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and truly specialised care that empowers women at every stage of their health journey,” said Dr. Caroline Whelan, Group CEO of Blackrock Health.
The centre will provide a diverse array of services, including clinics in gynaecology, urology, breast health, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cardiology, dermatology, and psychology. In addition, patients will have access to health screenings and a full suite of nursing and allied health services, such as physiotherapy, urodynamics, and radiological diagnostics, including DXA scanning, mammography, and ultrasound.
Aligning with Health Initiatives
This initiative aligns with the Women’s Health Action Plan 2024-2025, which aims to address significant gaps in existing services and empower women to take control of their health. The centre encourages Healthlink referrals to facilitate access to its comprehensive services.
“The Blackrock Health Women’s Health Centre brings together an exceptional team of specialists across a wide range of disciplines,” stated Dr. Caoimhe Hartley. “This collaborative approach allows us to provide truly integrated care, addressing the interconnected nature of women’s health needs.”
