Dublin Coach Emma Murphy Reveals Secrets to Sustainable Weight Loss
Maintaining healthy habits can be a challenge for many individuals embarking on a fitness journey. According to Dublin-based weight loss coach Emma Murphy, the key to sustaining these habits lies in integrating them into everyday life. After training as a coach in 2016 and initially offering online support, Murphy established her own gym, Emma Murphy Fitness, where she provides personalized coaching to women of all ages, shapes, and fitness levels.
In her experience, many individuals struggle to maintain their weight loss because they fail to adapt their new habits into a sustainable lifestyle. Murphy emphasizes the importance of recognizing that the physical choices made today will impact one’s health in the future. “My whole mantra is, fitness should be a part of your life,” she stated in an interview with RSVP Live.
She encourages people to view fitness as a lifelong commitment. “Whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, or 40s, we’re all going to reach our 50s, 60s, and 70s,” she explained. “You want to be strong at that time and look after yourself.” This foresight can serve as motivation for individuals striving to maintain their fitness and health.
Murphy advises that incorporating healthy habits learned during a weight loss journey into daily life is essential. She highlights that fitness should be a routine part of everyone’s day, contributing positively to physical health, mental well-being, and heart function.
Breaking free from an all-or-nothing mindset can be difficult, but Murphy suggests making incremental changes to promote a healthier lifestyle. “Make small little tweaks every day and you can turn those bad habits into good habits,” she recommends. For example, if someone enjoys takeaways on the weekends, she suggests creating a “fakeaway” at home to satisfy cravings while promoting healthier eating habits.
Eating well and in moderation is another critical component of Murphy’s advice. She believes that by consistently choosing healthier options, individuals can train their bodies to crave nutritious foods rather than junk.
Emma Murphy Fitness is located at Century Business Park, St Margaret’s Rd, Charlestown, Dublin 11, D11 VP46, Ireland.
