Limerick Blood Donation Clinics Seek New and Returning Donors
The Limerick branch of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) is actively seeking both new and returning blood donors to participate in a series of upcoming donation clinics. This appeal comes as the IBTS faces challenges related to seasonal holidays and decreased clinic attendance, particularly during warmer weather.
To address the pressing need for blood donations, two clinics are scheduled at the Castletroy Park Hotel on July 28, 2024, and July 29, 2024, from 16:50 to 20:10. Additionally, a clinic will be held at the Newport Community Centre on July 30, 2024, during the same hours.
The IBTS emphasizes the importance of maintaining a steady supply of blood, especially during busy holiday periods when donor turnout typically declines. The organization encourages community members to consider donating as a means to help save lives.
Appointments for the donation clinics can be made by calling 1800 222 111. The IBTS highlights that every donation can significantly impact the lives of patients in need, making participation vital for community health.
By joining these donation efforts, individuals can play a crucial role in ensuring that local hospitals are equipped with the necessary blood supplies. The IBTS invites everyone in Limerick to take part in this life-saving initiative.
