Stafford’s family, friends, and colleagues are grappling with the profound loss of a dedicated public servant and beloved member of the community.

Stafford, who was described in his death notice on RIP.ie as the “beloved Partner of Steph and loving father of Blake and Quinn,” leaves behind a legacy that resonates deeply with those who knew him. His family, including his father, Gerry, sister, Mandy, and brothers Philip and Stephen, as well as his grandmother, Sheila, will remember him fondly, as will his extended family, friends, and neighbours.

Tributes from Colleagues and Community

The Dublin Fire Brigade expressed their sorrow at his passing, stating, “All at Dublin Fire Brigade are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and friend David Stafford, Badge 750.” Stafford began his career with the brigade as an Emergency Service Controller before advancing to the role of Firefighter/Paramedic, where he was highly regarded by his peers. They noted that he held an exemplary record in his duties, serving based in North Strand.

Colleagues and friends have taken to social media to share their memories of Stafford. One colleague remarked, “We will miss you so much on the watch, our dear friend and colleague. You will be with us on every turn out. Rest in peace, Davey, see you on the other side.” Another mourner reflected on his character, saying, “David was an absolute gent! I haven’t stopped thinking of you all.”

Local councillor Malachy Steenson also paid tribute, stating, “David was a lovely young man, a father of two, a partner, son, and firefighter. He will be deeply missed within the community.” Steenson extended his thoughts and prayers to Stafford’s family, including his partner Stephanie and their two children, Blake and Quinn.

David Stafford will repose at his home on the evening of Monday, with a removal scheduled for the following morning to St Joseph’s Church in East Wall for a Funeral Mass at 11:00.
