Finbarr Roarty Earns Young Player of the Year as Donegal Takes Four All-Stars
Donegal’s Finbarr Roarty has been awarded the Young Player of the Year at the PwC Football All-Stars 2025 ceremony held in Dublin on March 15, 2025. The team also claimed a total of four All-Star awards, highlighting their strong performance throughout the season.
Roarty, at just 19 years old, joined teammates Michael Murphy, Brendan McCole, and Michael Langan in the esteemed list of top players, demonstrating Donegal’s significant presence in this year’s accolades. The team received a total of ten nominations, reflecting their competitive edge in the tournament.
Kerry Dominates All-Star Awards
In contrast, the All-Ireland champions Kerry secured eight All-Star awards, further solidifying their reputation in Gaelic football. Their standout player, David Clifford, was named Player of the Year, surpassing both Donegal’s Murphy and Kerry teammate Joe O’Connor for the honor.
The complete list of All-Stars for 2025 includes notable players such as Shane Ryan (Kerry), Jason Foley (Kerry), and Sam Mulroy (Louth), among others. This recognition not only highlights individual talents but also illustrates the competitive spirit present in this year’s championship.
The All-Stars ceremony, which took place at the RDS in Dublin, celebrated the accomplishments of athletes who have excelled throughout the season. By securing four All-Stars, Donegal has reinforced their status as a formidable force in Gaelic football.
