This home holds sentimental value for the Gallagher family, who frequently visited during their childhood summers after traveling from Manchester.

During a recent concert at Croke Park, Liam Gallagher expressed his connection to the region, asking the audience, “Anyone here from Mayo, Charlestown?” The crowd’s enthusiastic response prompted him to humorously remark, “There’s only about five people there, you can’t all be f*****g from there.” He dedicated the song “Roll With It” to the town, further emphasizing the importance of their heritage. Later, Liam paid tribute to his mother by dedicating “Stand By Me” to her during the same performance.

Margret Sweeney passed away in September 2000, just weeks shy of her 80th birthday.
