Local Couple Ties the Knot in Enchanting Kilkenny Ceremony

A charming wedding ceremony took place on March 15, 2024, at St Lachtain’s Church in Kilkenny, where Liam Cullen, formerly from Luton, UK, married Jennifer Hickey, a local resident from Woodview, Freshford. The ceremony was officiated by Fr P Carey, who guided the couple through their vows in front of family and friends.
The bride was given away by her father, marking a heartfelt moment in the ceremony. Supporting her was her chief bridesmaid, Kimberly Farrell, along with a talented group of bridesmaids: Stacey Davies, Teagan Johnston, Kiera Holland, and Alice Sears.
On the groom’s side, the best man was Luke Sears, complemented by groomsmen Stephen Holland, Liam Hayes, James Martin, and Chris Devane. The couple’s young family members added charm to the ceremony, with Freddie Cullen serving as junior groomsman and flower girls Erin Cullen and Sophie Hickey contributing their youthful energy.
Reception and Celebrations
Following the ceremony, guests gathered at the Newpark Hotel in Kilkenny for a festive reception. The couple was warmly congratulated and wished a joyful journey as they embarked on their newly married life together. The offertory was presented by the mothers of the bride and groom, Sally Hickey and Bernie Cullen, highlighting the familial bonds celebrated during the day.
Prayers of the faithful were read by a group of friends: Jessica Ali, Aine Farrell, Kieran Ryan, Alannah Purcell, and Alan Rafter. Music for the ceremony was provided by Laura Whelan, creating a beautiful ambiance throughout the event.
As the couple begins this new chapter in their lives, the community extends its best wishes for a future filled with love and happiness.
