New Deputy Principal Appointed at Gairmscoil Chú Uladh
Gairmscoil Chú Uladh in Beal an Átha Mór has welcomed a new Deputy Principal, Sineád Ní Dhochartaigh, as announced by the Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB). She succeeds Aoife de Náis, who recently transitioned to a Deputy Principal role at Coláiste Ailigh in Letterkenny.
An Experienced Educator Takes the Helm
Originally from Glenfin and a former student of Gairmscoil Chú Uladh, Sineád brings extensive educational experience to her new position. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Irish, along with a Master of Arts degree in Irish and a Professional Master of Education degree, all attained from NUI Galway.
Before her appointment, Sineád began her teaching career in Dublin but returned to County Donegal to contribute to her local education system. Since 2019, she has been teaching Irish and Geography at St. Columba’s Comprehensive School in Glenties. During her tenure there, she was an active member of the Middle Leadership Team, serving as the English as an Additional Language (EAL) Coordinator.
Commitment to Immersive Education
Sineád has been heavily involved in promoting school sports and the Irish language. She also worked with the State Examinations Commission for nearly a decade as both an oral and written examiner for Irish. Her dedication to education and community has earned her a reputation for fostering an engaging learning environment.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Sineád stated, “I am honoured to be appointed Deputy Principal of Gairmscoil Chú Uladh. I am committed to advancing the school’s vision, upholding the values of Donegal ETB, and encouraging more young people to experience the many benefits of immersive education through Irish.”
Sineád’s appointment marks a significant step for Gairmscoil Chú Uladh, as the school aims to continue its tradition of excellence in education while promoting the Irish language and culture.
