St. Vincent de Paul Fun Run Set to Boost Community Support

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) is organizing its annual fun run in Mungret Park on October 19, 2023, to raise funds for those experiencing poverty and hardship. The event, starting at 13:00, aims to engage the community and encourage volunteer participation to bolster SVP’s initiatives in Limerick and beyond.
With routes designed for all ages and abilities, the fun run is a call to action for the local community. Participants can register now at www.svpfunrun.ie. The funds raised will directly support SVP’s mission to provide practical assistance and restore dignity to individuals in need.
SVP national president and Limerick native, Teresa Ryan, emphasized the significance of the event, stating, “The SVP Fun Run is more than just a sporting event; it is about neighbours, families, and friends coming together in solidarity to support those who need it most.”
In conjunction with the fun run, SVP is launching a volunteer recruitment drive. The organization invites individuals from all communities to consider joining their efforts to make a meaningful impact. Interested parties can learn more about volunteering opportunities by visiting svp.ie/volunteer.
The fun run highlights the importance of community involvement in addressing social challenges. By participating, individuals not only contribute to a worthy cause but also foster connections within their neighborhoods. SVP’s commitment to aiding those in need remains strong, and this event serves as a vital platform to enhance their outreach and support services.
