Thomond Toastmasters Club Celebrates 35 Years of Empowering Communication

The Thomond Toastmasters Club is proudly celebrating its 35th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to enhancing communication skills within the community. Established in Limerick, Ireland, the club has consistently met at the Castletroy Park Hotel since its inception, offering a supportive environment for individuals seeking to improve their public speaking abilities.
John Ryan, the club president, expressed gratitude for the hotel’s ongoing support over the years. “The club is extremely fortunate to have such an excellent meeting venue and we are very appreciative of the support from the hotel over the years,” he stated. The club convenes on the second and fourth Thursday of each month, focusing on helping members overcome nervousness, build confidence, and refine their public speaking skills.
Hotel manager Cyril Laffan extended his congratulations to Ryan and the entire Thomond Toastmasters community for reaching this remarkable achievement. “The Castletroy Park is honoured to have hosted the meetings and we look forward to many more years of supporting the growth in communication and leadership skills,” Laffan remarked.
What is Toastmasters?
Toastmasters International is much more than a platform for delivering speeches. It fosters a positive, encouraging atmosphere where members learn and practice essential communication skills to navigate real-life challenges. Whether it involves acing a job interview, delivering a wedding speech, or simply boosting confidence in social interactions, the club provides valuable tools for personal and professional development.
Guests are always welcome to attend meetings, where they can observe and listen without feeling pressured to participate. Over the years, many members have joined to enhance their career prospects, conquer their fears, and build lasting relationships. The club’s welcoming atmosphere, combined with informal chats over coffee, creates a perfect setting for meeting new people and forging connections.
Join the Celebration
The Thomond Toastmasters Club invites anyone interested in improving their communication skills to join their meetings. The next session is scheduled for September 11, 2023, at 20:00 at the Castletroy Park Hotel. As the club celebrates 35 years of empowering individuals through communication, it continues to play a vital role in the personal and professional development of its members, embodying the spirit of growth and community.
