Augustinians Seek Volunteers for Peace Day Celebrations
The Augustinians are inviting volunteers to participate in their annual Peace Day celebrations, scheduled for November 29. This event aims to foster a spirit of peace during the Christmas season and encourages community involvement in various activities.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to help distribute night lights to participants, promoting the tradition of lighting candles during Advent and Christmas as a symbol of prayer for peace. A short prayer service will accompany the celebrations, offering a moment for reflection and unity.
Organisers have emphasized the importance of this initiative. “Peace is urgently needed, in homes, communities, and across the world. This simple act offers a moment to reflect and respond. More volunteers mean more candles shared, and more people thinking about peace,” they stated.
Those interested in volunteering can reach out to Geraldine at 089 241 0066. The Augustinians encourage members of the public to join them in spreading a message of hope and peace during the holiday season. This community-driven effort not only aims to enhance the spirit of Christmas but also to inspire individuals to consider the broader implications of peace in their lives and surroundings.
As the event approaches, the Augustinians are hopeful for a strong turnout of volunteers, reflecting the community’s commitment to fostering peace and solidarity.
