Erika Kirk has shared her emotional journey following the assassination of her husband, conservative activist Charlie Kirk, in September 2023. In a heartfelt interview with Megyn Kelly, Kirk revealed that she was “praying to God” for confirmation of her pregnancy at the time of the tragedy. The couple had expressed a desire to expand their family, having welcomed a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son.

Reflecting on her family’s aspirations, Kirk stated, “We wanted to have four,” emphasizing their excitement to grow together. “I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered,” she noted, describing the hope that another child would be a “blessing out of this catastrophe.”

Don’t you worry. He’s on a work trip with Jesus so he can afford your blueberry budget.”

Kirk’s strength was evident when she accepted the U.S. Presidential Medal of Honor on her husband’s behalf during a ceremony at the White House Rose Garden last month. Fighting back tears, she shared a birthday message from their daughter. “Happy birthday Daddy, I want to give you a stuffed animal. You can always have a career, you can always go back to work. You can never just go back to having children,” she advised.
