Ghislaine Maxwell Denies Trump Involvement in Epstein’s Crimes

Former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, has stated to the U.S. Justice Department that she did not witness any inappropriate behavior involving Donald Trump. According to transcripts released on March 15, 2024, Maxwell denied any knowledge of sexual misconduct by Trump during her interviews with deputy attorney general Todd Blanche at a courthouse in Florida.

The release of these documents comes in the context of ongoing scrutiny surrounding Trump’s past associations with Epstein, a convicted sex offender who was arrested in 2019 on sex trafficking charges. Maxwell’s statements are aimed at clarifying Trump’s connections to Epstein, who died in 2019 while in federal custody. Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 for her role in facilitating Epstein’s sexual abuse of minors, expressed her admiration for Trump during the interviews. She stated, “I never witnessed the President in any inappropriate setting in any way. The President was never inappropriate with anybody.” This assertion aligns with Maxwell’s recollection of her initial encounter with Trump, which she estimates occurred in 1990, when her father, Robert Maxwell, owned the New York Daily News.

In response to questioning about whether she had ever heard any allegations against Trump regarding inappropriate conduct, Maxwell firmly denied such claims, saying, “Absolutely never, in any context.” The transcripts reveal that Maxwell was granted limited immunity for her statements, allowing her to speak without fear of prosecution, except in cases of dishonesty.

Following her interviews, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security federal prison in Florida to a minimum-security prison camp in Texas. Details surrounding this move have not been disclosed by either her legal team or the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
