Limerick’s Live 95 Celebrates Double Gold at IMRO Radio Awards

Limerick’s Live 95 achieved a remarkable feat at the **IMRO Radio Awards**, securing two prestigious Gold Awards in the local and regional categories. The station’s standout moment came when **Joe Nash**, host of the popular Limerick Today programme, was named **Speech Broadcaster of the Year**. Competing against notable figures like **Alan Corcoran** of South East Radio and **Frank Mitchell** from U105, Nash’s compelling presentation and engaging content won him the top honour.
In addition to Nash’s accolade, Live 95 was recognised for its excellence in current affairs programming. The station’s award-winning segment, titled **’A Woman’s Worst Nightmare’**, received the Gold Award for **Best Local/Regional Current Affairs Programme**. This impactful feature, which highlighted significant societal issues, was also part of Nash’s flagship show, further exemplifying the station’s commitment to quality journalism.
The awards ceremony also saw **Louise Cantillon** from **Today FM** triumph as **Music and Entertainment Presenter of the Year**. Her dynamic approach and engaging style have made her a prominent figure in the industry, earning her this significant recognition.
The **IMRO Radio Awards**, held annually, celebrate excellence in broadcasting across Ireland. The event showcases the talent and dedication of radio professionals, with awards presented in various categories. This year’s ceremony highlighted the growing influence of local radio, particularly in how it addresses important issues affecting communities.
Nash’s victory reflects both his personal commitment to broadcasting and the broader mission of Live 95 to inform and engage its audience. With its double win, the station has solidified its position as a leader in local radio and a key player in the region’s media landscape.
