Eoin Kenny Commits to Northern Ireland U21 Squad Ahead of Qualifier

Eoin Kenny, son of former Republic of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny, has officially pledged his international future to Northern Ireland. This commitment follows his recent call-up to the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad, marking a significant step in his young football career.
The 19-year-old forward, who has represented both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland at various youth levels, will join the squad for their first qualifying match in the European Championships in Georgia next month. Northern Ireland Under-21 manager Tommy Wright confirmed Kenny’s decision, stating, “Eoin had played originally for the Under-17s and made it clear he wants to play for Northern Ireland.”
Kenny’s performance has been impressive, particularly during his time at Dundalk, where he scored seven goals in 28 appearances this season. His development at the club has garnered attention, and Wright highlighted his potential, noting, “He did extremely well at Dundalk last year and has done well this season.”
Born in Foyleside during his father’s first tenure at Derry City, Eoin’s journey in football has been closely watched. As he joins the Green and White Army, fans will be eager to see how his talent translates to the international stage.
With his commitment to Northern Ireland, Eoin Kenny aims to make an impact in the upcoming qualifiers and beyond, setting the stage for what could be a promising international career.
