Jeamie TKV Secures British Heavyweight Title in Tough Contest
Jeamie TKV emerged victorious against Frazer Clarke, claiming the vacant British heavyweight title through a split decision after a grueling 12-round match in Derby on December 9, 2023. TKV faced a challenging start as Clarke launched an aggressive attack, but he gradually found his rhythm and responded with powerful strikes, including a decisive left hook in the 11th round that nearly concluded the bout early.
Despite enduring Clarke’s early onslaught, TKV demonstrated resilience and tactical prowess. The Olympic bronze medalist suffered a point deduction for repeated low blows but continued to impose his will throughout the contest. Two judges scored the fight 115-113 and 115-112 in favor of TKV, while the third judge awarded it 115-112 to Clarke, underscoring the competitive nature of the bout.
Clarke, who had previously experienced a draw and a loss against WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley, faced disappointment in his third attempt at the British title. This latest defeat raises significant questions about the future of the 34-year-old fighter in a highly competitive division.
TKV Reflects on His Victory
Following his victory, TKV expressed his confidence and satisfaction with his performance. Speaking to the BBC, he stated, “It feels amazing! I whooped that boy in his back yard. I knew he was going to hold on, but he started blowing within the first 30 seconds. We are not at the Olympics anymore!”
His comments highlighted both his determination and the intensity of the fight. TKV acknowledged the challenges he faced, saying, “I even had a point taken off and still won.” He also indicated his willingness to face Clarke again, suggesting a rematch in London, possibly at Wembley, stating, “Of course, I’m open to a rematch. We will do it in London this time, maybe at Wembley – but anytime, anywhere.”
This victory solidifies TKV’s position in the heavyweight rankings and emphasizes his ability to overcome adversity in the ring. As he looks to the future, fans and analysts will closely monitor his next moves in the boxing world.
