Kilkenny Medieval Mile Race Set to Light Up Festive Season
The Kilkenny Medieval Mile Race is set to return on December 5, 2025, bringing the festive spirit to the heart of Kilkenny. Organized by the Kilkenny City Harriers in partnership with Yulefest Kilkenny, this annual tradition invites runners of all ages to participate in a memorable evening run. The race begins at 19:30 at James Stephens Barracks and concludes at the Parade, where participants and spectators can enjoy music and refreshments.
This year’s event promises to be particularly enchanting, as hundreds of participants, both competitive and casual, are expected to take part. The course is known for its fast route, making it ideal for seasoned athletes aiming for personal bests as well as families wishing to enjoy a festive outing together. The atmosphere will be enhanced by Yulefest’s seasonal decorations and festive installations, creating a magical backdrop for the race.
Participants must register in advance, with an entry fee of €21.30 that includes timing and a t-shirt, or they can opt for a free entry without a t-shirt and timing on a first-come, first-served basis.
