Manchester United Accepts City’s Bid for Grace Clinton as Transfers Heat Up

Manchester United has accepted an offer from Manchester City for midfielder Grace Clinton. The decision comes as United aims to prevent losing Clinton for free, as they have done with players like Alessia Russo, Ona Batlle, and Mary Earps in recent years. Clinton, who is in the final year of her contract, is a key player for the team and has made significant contributions to the squad.
In an effort to strengthen their lineup, Manchester United is pursuing a deal for Jess Park from Manchester City. The discussions about a permanent transfer are ongoing ahead of the transfer deadline on September 14, 2023. Park, like Clinton, is an England international and was part of the squad that won the Euro 2025 championship this summer. Both players are seen as exceptional young talents in the Women’s Super League (WSL).
Key Transfers and Upcoming Matches
Manchester City is set to kick off their season on September 15, 2023, with a match against reigning champions Chelsea, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. New manager Andree Jeglertz addressed the media on Wednesday, expressing confidence that Park would remain with the club through the transfer window. “If that happens or if anything else happens, I’m sure that we will have an announcement,” Jeglertz stated regarding Park’s future.
As the Women’s Super League continues to gain traction, Sky Sports has expanded its coverage significantly. The network will air 118 matches this season, a substantial increase from the previous 78 fixtures. Alongside live broadcasts, Sky Sports is introducing a new flagship program dedicated to Sunday lunchtime matches, providing extensive coverage and behind-the-scenes content.
Fans can expect enhanced access to the league through the Sky Sports app, which will feature vertical video highlights, detailed match centres, and live streams for subscribers. In addition, free match highlights from every WSL game will be available on the Sky Sports website and app, catering to a growing audience eager to follow women’s football.
As the transfer window approaches its climax, the developments surrounding Clinton and Park could significantly impact both clubs’ performances in the upcoming season. The decisions made in the next few days will not only shape the teams but also reflect the evolving landscape of women’s football, where talent acquisition has become increasingly competitive.
