As the horse racing calendar heats up, Saint Bibiana aims for a fourth consecutive victory at Uttoxeter on July 30, 2023. Competing in the Stan Price Memorial Handicap Hurdle, the eight-year-old mare has showcased remarkable form this spring, winning her last three races. Notably, she previously triumphed over Minella Rescue at the same course and distance in June, establishing her as a strong contender in today’s race.

With a weight increase of seven pounds following her recent success, Saint Bibiana will again be ridden by jockey Olive Nicholls. Minella Rescue, now four pounds better off than the likely favourite, is expected to challenge fiercely, as he remains a consistent performer in the field. Other horses to keep an eye on include Keel Strand, trained by Paul Nicholls, who is also pursuing a four-timer while stepping up in class.

Competitive Races at Uttoxeter

The excitement at Uttoxeter continues with the 3.07 race featuring Village Master and Art Of Diplomacy. Village Master, under the guidance of trainer Warren Greatrex, boasts an impressive record, having secured victories in eight of his ten starts over fences. He pursues a four-timer in this QuinnBet Handicap Chase, and with the extra distance expected to suit his style, he is likely to present a significant challenge to his competitors.

Art Of Diplomacy enters the race after winning at Newton Abbot and another contest earlier this month. As he moves up a grade, he poses a potential threat to Village Master. The pair of Fergal O’Brien’s horses, Young Buster and Manothepeople, are also expected to compete strongly, adding depth to the field.

Other Highlights from the Day

In the 2.37 race, last-time winners Leloopa and Realistic Optimism will face off in the steelbeamsderby.co.uk Handicap Hurdle. Trainer Jamie Snowden and jockey Gavin Sheehan pair up with Realistic Optimism, who recently achieved his first win over hurdles and looks set for further success in upcoming handicaps this summer. Meanwhile, Leloopa, under Fergal O’Brien, has claimed victory in three of her last four races and is a leading contender, especially with jockey Tom Broughton claiming five pounds.

Earlier in the day, at 1.37, Joseph O’Brien‘s Dignam will attempt to build on his recent debut success in hurdles. The Bowen brothers, James and Sean, are also expected to deliver solid performances throughout the day with a strong selection of rides.

On the flat, La Teste will host notable races, including a six-furlong Listed event for two-year-olds at 2.55 and another Listed race at 3.30, where Jokla is anticipated to perform well for the Wertheimers. Epson Blue Cen will need to recover from a recent disappointing run, while Ilda Rosa shows promise for the future.

As the day unfolds, all eyes will be on Uttoxeter for thrilling races and potential upsets, showcasing the dynamic nature of horse racing.
