10,000 Galway Properties Connected to High-Speed Internet NOW

UPDATE: National Broadband Ireland (NBI) has just announced a significant milestone in Galway, with 10,000 homes, farms, and businesses now connected to high-speed internet. This achievement represents an impressive uptake rate of about 30 percent, as nearly 30,000 properties in the region can now benefit from fiber broadband services.
This rollout is part of a larger national initiative, where over 403,000 homes across the country have been connected, yielding a national uptake rate of 35 percent, equating to 142,000 properties engaged with the service.
Under the NBI scheme, the fiber network guarantees minimum speeds of 500mb/s, providing a much-needed boost to connectivity in rural areas. This surge in accessibility is vital for both personal and professional use, allowing businesses to thrive and families to stay connected in an increasingly digital world.
Residents and local businesses are expected to feel the impact immediately, as faster internet speeds can enhance productivity, improve educational opportunities, and facilitate smoother communication. The rollout reflects a growing commitment to bridging the digital divide in Ireland, especially in rural regions like Galway.
As NBI continues its expansion, all eyes will be on how this crucial infrastructure improvement will transform the local economy and residents’ daily lives. Future updates are anticipated as more properties are connected in the coming months.
Stay tuned for further developments on this rapidly evolving story, as Galway embraces a new era of high-speed internet access.
